Richard Pryor/Who?!
Richard Pryor (1940 -2005)
“Some people think Magic Johnson was the best basketball player and some people think Michael Jordan. But nobody argues about who was the best comic ever.”
- D.L. Hughley
Richard Pryor passed away recently (Dec 10th) and for a few seconds I forgot. Not because I didn’t care. It’s because he has become so timeless that it seems like he’s still here. I remember watching him at a very early age. Seeing him in movies and on TV, he was not like most black people at that time. He made you laugh and made you think. I just wanted to jolt down some of my favorite movies.

Which Way Is Up?
Greased Lightning

Who?!
Last year I had the pleasure of seeing an episode of the new Dr. Who starring Christopher Eccleston. I didn’t think I would like it because I tried watching previous Doctor Who episodes and didn’t know what was going on. Not to mention the cheesy effects of the time. This Dr. Who was different. He was interesting and his new companion Rose (Played excellently by Billie Piper) was very good looking. I figured that since this would basically be the beginning I could catch on. After watching the first episode I had to see more. I really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, this series was only running in England. Luckily, I have friends who have ways of acquiring things. I was able to watch the entire series. Christopher Eccleston decided he didn’t want to continue being the Doctor so now David Tennant has taken over the role. I was a little leery about it but I just watched his first appearance as the Doctor and I believe he’ll do a fine job.
